Spiral dryer fabrics are commonly used in the paper making industry for transporting and drying the aqueous media there found. More broadly, spiral fabrics are used as filter media for wet, dry, hot and cold solutions and dispersions. PPS (Phenylen Sulphide) mono-filaments are thermically very stable and provide excellent resistance to the chemicals. PPS materials are adopted as a choice in the manufacture of spiral fabrics to resist to chemical and thermical damages. Monofilaments with hydrolysis-resistance or PTFE coating are also available as a choice to make spiral fabrics to achieve the best resistance to abrasion.
Spiral dryer fabric is available in a broad air permeability range. Air permeability reductions can be achieved by inserting cross-directional yarns into the open area of the spiral. Spiral fabrics are easy to fit and install, simple to clean and remain stable even after long running times of operation. The construction of spiral loops offers invisible seams to ensure the same strength as the belt itself and their large contact surface area helps to improves the drying efficiency. In addition, spiral constructions offer higher levels of wear and damage resistance and are very suitable for challenging positions.
